My new gear, but not really :)

I went on a company trip to Marrakesh (Morocco) beginning of February for the company's 10 year anniversary. One of the many shops surrounding the market square had this old camera equipment displayed.

Third and last in my "winter morning series", with the willow more prominent in the picture. I cropped this one significantly and if the sun hadn't been center again, I'd have cropped it to a panoramic ratio extending to the right with varying fence shapes.

The shot itself is perhaps not very special, but I wanted a series and just two photos wouldn't really cut it, right? :)

The second photo in my "winter morning series", following the sheep in my previous post .

I processed the picture just slightly different, adusting the highlight levels on the blue channel a bit. It's amazing how different it makes the photo look in comparison.

On one of my first days back to work after my holiday in Australia, I was driving to work on the motorway and I spotted this nice big orange/red sun rising on the horizon. As I was really stuck in traffic more than I was driving, I had plenty of time to figure out how to get to a suitable location for the day after (suitable as not on the motorway).

That day I would bring my camera and eventually take this photograph. It was a cold day, with frost on the grass and tree branches giving this shot its winter look.

For the dutchies: it's the polderweg next to the A27 motorway Breda - Utrecht and just before the A2 heading towards Amsterdam.

A small break from the pictures taken in Australia: this weekend I went on a phototrip to Willemstad, a town underneath Rotterdam, together with Sabine and Elger .

I'm not sure what the little house with the carriage wheels is called (there are more of them in Willemstad), so drop me a line if you do know :-)

Taking this picture I was incredibly focused on the line of the fence leading into the picture. In hindsight I would have liked to have more of the walkway/path on the left and have the arch/tunnel visible. Ah well...

Impressions left by the ocean water at a beach in Burnie (Tasmania, Australia).

I wouldn't recommend Burnie for sightseeing by the way, but it makes an excellent basecamp should you want to visit (north of) Cradle Mountain.

Night view of the Sydney CBD and the Opera House in 2.8:1 panorama crop. It's the view from the northern part of the city, same area as the photo of Sydney harbour bridge I posted earlier.

Nelson falls in Tasmania, Australia. Not really framing the subject here, kind of like the previous blog entry, but I've been too busy this week to dig up and process something better. Anyway, falls are one of these subjects which every photographer tries at least once, certainly to get the silky smooth effect with longer exposures. I know I will try again, choosing a moment during the day with less light (so I can get longer exposures) and improve composition next time.
